TINSUKIA : Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Tinsukia organized a Scientific Advisory Committee meeting on Friday at the KVK premises.

The annual report of year 2021-2022 was presented by senior scientist & in-charge head, KVK Gayatri Deori Bhuyan. She also presented an action plan for the financial year 2022-2023.

The meeting was attended by Dr PK Pathak Director of Extension Education, Assam Agricultural University (present virtually), Jorhat, Dr A Borgohain, Associate Director of Extension Education (Veterinary), AAU, Khanapara, Sarfaraz Haque, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tinsukia, Dr A Dutta. Joint Director, Agriculture, Tinsukia, Dr JP Dutta, Chief Scientist of CRS, AAU, Tinsukia, Samar Biswakarma, Executive Engineer, Irrigation, Tinsukia, Tapan Neog, District Agriculture Officer, Tinsukia, Santana Medhi, Range Forest Officer, Tinsukia, Dr Prabhat Chandra Dutta, CDO,DVO Office, Tinsukia, Dr M Chauhan, Junior Scientist, Directorate of Research , AAU, Jorhat (present virtually), Praloy Bhowmic, Lead District Manager, Tinsukia, Satyajit Borgohain, Assistant Executive Engineer( Agriculture), Tinsukia, Manju Rai, Child Development Project Officer, Margherita, Monjit Gogoi, DPM, ASRLM, Tinsukia and other farmers from the Tinsukia district.

There was a highly potent exchange of views and ideas in between the dignitaries, farmers and the team at KVK, Tinsukia. Discussions were held on ways and means to improve the livelihood and income of the farming community at large. The farmers present in the meeting exchanged their experiences of farming and were motivated by the heads of departments for any help as and when required. Natural farming techniques were discussed which have been prime importance by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The meeting concluded with the Director of Extension Education Veterinary, AAU, Khanapara giving his valuable suggestions for improving the ways by which Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tinsukia can offer its services to the farming community of the district.
