KVK, Tinsukia organized workshop on petroleum product conservation in agricultural sector

TINSUKIA: A three-day workshop on ‘Petroleum product conservation in agricultural sector’ organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tinsukia at Tarajan gaon and Kundil Kinar gaon, Sadiya concluded on Friday.

The workshop was sponsored by the Petroleum Conservation and Research Association, Government of India. The workshop was held with an aim to create awareness among the farming community in the agricultural sector.

Senior Scientist and Head KVK, Tinsukia, Dr. Sanjoy Borthakur inaugurated the program with a welcome address and discussed in length about various scientific ways to conserve energy and protect the environment in the agricultural sector. Junior Engineer of Agriculture Department of Tinsukia district, Citra Hazarika was the resource person. Hazarika discussed different ways and technologies of conservation of energy in our household and daily activities, present energy status of the State and district and different technologies in increasing energy efficiency in fuel operated agricultural machinery. He also emphasized using solar energy as an alternative form of energy for different farm machinery.

More than 70 farmers of Tarajan gaon and Kundil Kinar gaon of Tinsukia district actively participated in the program of PCRA. All the scientists of KVK, Tinsukia fully cooperated in organizing the program and it was a grand success.
