Lakhimpur AASU fetes meritorious students

LAKHIMPUR:  The Lakhimpur district unit of All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) on Wednesday gave warm felicitation to the meritorious students of the district, who passed the HSLC and HS final exams this year with flying colours by achieving ranks, distinction marks and star marks.

In order to fete the meritorious students, Lakhimpur AASU organized its regular ‘Abhinandan’ programme, like the previous years, at Tyag Kshetra of North Lakhimpur town. The programme was held in association with the North Lakhimpur subdivisional unit and North Lakhimpur regional unit of the organization. The agenda of the event began with the unfurling of organizational flag by Lakhimpur AASU president Simanta Neog. It was followed by smriti tarpan programme, which was conducted by Lakhimpur district AASU general secretary Swaraj Sankar Gogoi.

The agenda of the felicitation programme kick-started with a chorus song. It was chaired by Simanta Neog while Swaraj Sankar Gogoi explained the objective of the programme. AASU central committee chief organizing secretary Pulok Borah, Lakhimpur SP Ananda Mishra, Asom Unnati Sabha newly-selected vice-president Debojit Mazumder, and other dignitaries attended the event as guests of honour.

In the same event, Lakhimpur AASU feted the headmasters, principals of the academic institutions where the meritorious students studied and achieved outstanding success.
