LAKHIMPUR: Enriched with a shining history of 50 golden years, Lakhimpur Collegiate Model High School will celebrate the concluding ceremony of its year-long golden jubilee programme on November 29 and November 30. Notably, the year-long programme of golden jubilee celebration of the school kicked off on June 9, 2018. Since then, the celebration committee organized several academic and allied events successfully to mark the glorious 50 years of the academic institution.

The first-day agenda of the concluding ceremony will start with the unfurling of golden jubilee flag by celebration committee president and Lakhimpur MLA, Utpal Dutta. It will be followed by smriti tarpan, plantation drive, Durga Prashad Deka Memorial Park inauguration, freedom fighter Mahananda Borah and founder headmaster Bimal Hazarika’s statue inauguration, school auditorium inauguration and alumni session. A symposium on ‘The importance of shaping the future life of students and present educational course of the school’ will be held. Journalist-writer Ranjit Kakati, Prof Dr Mukunda Neog, and Vice-Principal of Doimukh HS School, Arunachal Pradesh, Aisena Tang will take part in the symposium as resource persons. It will be inaugurated by academician Pademeswar Chutia and chaired by retired DEEO Jiban Chandra Dutta. A bhaona titled Suryaputra Karna will be staged at night as part of the cultural programme.

The second day’s agenda on November 30 will commence with a colourful cultural rally to be inaugurated by Lakhimpur SP Harekrishna Nath. Researcher Dr. Puspa Gogoi will be present as appointed speaker in the open session. SEBA Controller of Examination Nayan Jyoti Sarmah will grace the occasion as the chief guest while Dibrugarh University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ranjit Tamuli will be present as guest of honour along with a galaxy of noted personalities of academic, cultural and political fields. Popular artiste Bipin Chaodang will take part in the cultural night programme with several cultural artistes.
