LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district administration is all set to conduct the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2020 of the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) on September 12. The exam will be held at a total of 15 venues in the the district.
The venues are- North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous), Old Building A (300), North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous), Old Building B (300), Lakhimpur Girls' College (250), North Lakhimpur Town High School (115), LTK College (200), DIET, Lakhimpur (100), Panigaon OPD College (200), Lakhimpur Commerce College (292), North Lakhimpur Government Boys' HS School (204), North Lakhimpur Girls' HS School (92), Saboti Welfare Multipurpose School (152), Lakhimpur Academy HS School (93), Panindra Vidyalaya (124), Lakhimpur Kendriya Mahavidyalaya (152) and Nakari HS School (120). In this year, a total of 2,701 candidates along with 2 PWD candidates will appear in the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination in Lakhimpur district.
This was stated by Sumit Sattawan, the Deputy Commissioner of Lakhimpur, in a media briefing programme held at the conference hall of his office on Friday evening. He further stated that the district administration had adopted all possible measures and initiated all necessary steps to conduct the exam in free and fair manner in the district.
In the programme, the Deputy Commissioner further asserted, "The Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination will be held in the district with strict adherence to existing COVID-19 protocols as per the guidelines of the APSC. All the candidates appearing in this examination must wear face mask, face shield and hand gloves. They must go through thermal scanning prior to entering the examination hall. The candidates who had already taken at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, are not required to produce negative RT-PCR/RAT test report, but they have to bring hard copies of the vaccine certificates while coming to the examination centres. On the other hand, all those candidates who are yet to be vaccinated must bring RT-PCR and RAT negative reports of test done within 72 hours and 48 hours respectively."
In the district, eight magistrates will monitor the examination. An Emergency Call Centre with two phone numbers— 1077 and 037532245761 has been installed in the district in this regard.
Attending the programme, ADC-cum-District Nodal Officer, APSC (P) Exam, Monurama Morang appealed to the candidates to reach the examination venues one hour before the commencement of examination and to bring with them only blue or black ball-point pens for use in the examination. She informed that candidates would not be allowed to use pencils, geometry boxes, water bottles, books, papers, bags, including any electronic gadgets like mobile phones, smart watch, calculators, bluetooth devices, cameras and pen drives in the examination.
