Lakhimpur District logo inaugurated; quiz competition held

LAKHIMPUR: In connection with the golden jubilee year District Day celebration on Sunday, the District Logo of Lakhimpur was inaugurated on Saturday evening in a festive environment.

In this connection, a ceremonial programme was organized at the playground of North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous), wherein the logo was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan and Lakhimpur MLA Manab Deka. The programme was attended by ADC Manorama Morang, SP Bedanta Madhav Rajkhowa, students and academic staff of the college along with a host of prominent persons of the district.

On the other hand, in connection with the District Day celebration, the Town and Village Planning Department of Lakhimpur organized a quiz competition among the students at North Lakhimpur Boys' Government High School on Saturday. The event was held under the management and chairmanship of of Deputy Director Diganta Kumar Pujari. Retired teacher, Anuj Kumar Bhuyan took part in the competition as quiz-master. Jagadish Bhawal, Mousam Das, Dimpal Dutta bagged first prize in the quiz competition. Torali Borpatra Gohain, Madhusmita Gogoi, Debojani Borgohain secured second prize while Kiran Taid, Niranjan Deka and Dipak Gogoi secured the third prize.
