A CORRESPONDENT
LAKHIMPUR: An interaction programme among farmers and the agriculture scientists was held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) of Lakhimpur on Monday.
The programme was jointly organized under the auspices of the Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), Assam Agriculture University, North Lakhimpur and All India Radio, Dibrugarh in association with KVK of Lakhimpur. More than 100 progressive farmers of the district participated in the programme interacting with the agriculture scientists with regard to various problems they face while farming and cultivation.
Rastriya Krishi Karman Award winner progressive farmer Hemkanti Payeng also took part in the programme. As resource persons, Chief Scientist of RARS, North Lakhimpur, Dr. Prabal Kumar Saikia, Head Scientist Dr. Dhiren Choudhuri, Junior Scientist Nripen Kumar Gogoi, Bibha Oja and Bithika Phukan and Head Scientist of Lakhimpur KVK, Dr. Bhabesh Chandra Deka forwarded solutions to the problems of the farmers asked in the programme.
