LAKHIMPUR: The overall voter turnout of Lakhimpur district in Assam Legislative Assembly Election -2021 has decreased in comparison to that of 2016.
In the district, a total of 6,43,657 electors, out of 7,79,271, covering No. 109 Bihpuriya Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC), No. 110 Naoboicha LAC, No. 111 Lakhimpur LAC and No. 112 Dhakuakhana LAC exercised their franchise on March 27 during the polling of the first phase of Assam Legislative Assembly Election -2021 which was conducted on March 27. Of them, 3,22,636 electors, out of 3,92,724 were male electors while 3,21,021 out of 3,86,547 were female electors. The overall voter turnout of the district in this election is 82.59 per cent. The male voter turnout is 82.15 per cent and female voter turnout is 83.04 per cent.
On the other hand, a total of 5,53,656 out 6,49,565 voters cast their votes in the Assembly Election held in 2016. Of them, 2,81,519 voters, out of 3,34,290 were male voters while 2,72,127 out of 3,15,275 were female voters. The overall voter turnout of the district in that election was 85.23 per cent. The male voter turnout of that year was 84.21 per cent and female voter turnout was 86.31 per cent. The overall voter turnout of the district in this year election has decreased by 2.64 per cent from that of 2016. The male voter turnout and female voter turnout have also decreased by 2.06 per cent and 3.27 per cent respectively.
The LAC-wise voter turnouts of the district in this year election are— 79.48 per cent in No. 109 Bihpuriya LAC, 86.19 per cent in No, 110 Naoboicha LAC, 81,99 per cent in No. 111 Lakhimpur LAC and 81.53 per cent in No. 112 Dhakuakhana LAC.
