DIBRUGARH: A total of 6,458 land allotment proposals to landless and small tea growers of the district were approved by the Sub-Divisional Land Advisory Committee (SDLAC) for Dibrugarh district at a meeting of SDLAC, held at the DC's conference hall with Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha in the chair. Out of 6,458 proposals, including 5,568 proposals of allotting general government land and 354 proposals of allotting ceiling surplus land to individuals, 532 proposals for allotting land to small tea growers and four of allotting land to institutions were approved by the SDLAC. A total of 2,774 bigha 2 katha and 11 lessa land to 532 small tea growers scattered in seven revenue circles of the district were allotted by approving all proposals of small tea growers.
The meeting was attended by members of the SDLAC, Lahowal MLA RituparnaBaruah, Tingkhong MLA Bimal Bora, Moran MLA ChakradharGogoi, CEM of SonowalKachari Autonomous Council, DipuRanjanMarkary and other dignitaries.
