Land Can Be Registered At Lower Price Than Circle Rate Says Assam CM

GUWAHATI: In a recent development in Assam's sector of land and farmers, the state government announced that decisions will be taken to increase the Circle Rate of land.

While addressing the media, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the government is working on the proposed work and thinking about increasing the Circle Rate of land.

The decision aims to help those farmers who receive very low rates during government land purchasing and the higher circle rate will be beneficial for people.

The circle rate of land will see a change after a long time as it was not changed for a decade. It is informed that government won't interfere if the buyers and sellers agree to register the land at a lower rate.

Further, the Chief Minister said that the circle rate has continued to be constant for the gone ten years therefore it is important that there is some change so that people buy according to the rate.

CM Sarma also mentioned that if the seller and buyer make their decision and agree in registering the land at a lower rate then in that case the government has no objection.

However, the revenue will be charged according to the circle rate of the government and in addition, it is also informed that the stamp duty will be calculated based on the Circle Rate.

CM Sarma stated that one of the prime motives of the decision with the increase of rate is helping the farmers who get minimum rates at the time of government land acquisition.

He said that with the higher Circle rate a lot of people will get benefitted during land acquisition.

Many of the lands are needed for government projects therefore if the Circle rate is increased people will earn a good amount of money.

The chief minister, at last, said that land will be needed for various development projects of government so the Circle Rate will be made higher so that this becomes an advantage for people in getting more money.
