BAKSA: Sensation prevailed after a large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered at Santipur village along Indo-Bhutan border under Tamulpur police station in the district of Baksa on Sunday.
The arms and ammunition were recovered in an operation launched by Tamulpur police. Based on a tip off, a large police team led by Tamulpur Subdivisional Police Officer Aseema Kalita launched a raid in Santipur area from 3 am on Sunday. During the operation, police managed to recover 10 hand grenades, 6 ammunition of 9 MM pistol, an empty magazine of AK-47, 9 safety levers of grenade, 3 detonators, one country-made revolver and 235 live bullets of AK 47. On the other hand, police arrested four youths of the locality on suspicion. They are Bethel Mosahary, Bilas Ishwary, Chwmswar Musahary and Kirtiraj Basumtary.
