Last date of paddy procurement in Sonitpur district extended

TEZPUR: The last date of paddy procurement in Sonitpur district has been extended upto September 25, 2021. The paddy procurement centre in Sonitpur is located at the premises of Regulated Market committee (RMC), Dhekiajuli, Sonitpur and operated by Food Corporation of India (FCI) for this Boro season. The farmers have to submit the following documents and follow the process mentioned for 'Paddy procurement: Farmer Certificate' from the ADO concerned countersigned by SDAO, HQ, Tezpur, Sonitpur. They also have to get themselves registered with PPC and get their paddy sample checked by visiting the paddy procurement centre.
The MSP (Minimum Support Price) is Rs 1,868/quintal for Boro paddy. However, the following specification of paddy grain have to be met- the moisture content should be below 17 per cent; the grain should not be affected by any insect and fungus and the paddy grain should be cleaned from chaffy grains and unwanted material.
