Lat Mandal arrested on graft charges in Udalguri district

TANGLA: The sleuths of the directorate of Vigilance and Anti-corruption arrested a Lat Mandal of Kalaigaon Revenue Circle Office on bribery charges in Kalaigaon of Udalguri district on Friday. According to reports, the sleuths of the directorate of Vigilance and Anti-corruption laid a trap and apprehended Lat Mandal, Kanak Barua for demanding bribe from the complainant for processing land mutation documents. Pertinently, the Kalaigaon Revenue Circle Office in Kalaigaon of Udalguri district has allegedly turned into a rotten ground of corrupt officials. There had been allegations since long that a section of officials of the Revenue Circle Office often indulge in malpractices by mismanaging registration, transfer of land records.
