DOOMDOOMA: Unlike last year when the police was ruthless towards COVID-19 protocol violators and in imposing lockdown, Doomdooma Police led by new Officer-in- charge Inspector Dibyayoti Dutta, distributed masks to the people including children who were loitering without masks at various places of the town on Friday. This they did as per instruction of Superintendent of Police (SP), Tinsukia. It is mentionable that in spite of repeated warnings by the police and local administration, a section of people including a large number of traders are seen openly defying the COVID-19 norms. The police urged the people to strictly abide by the COVID-19 protocol and wear masks. Later, talking to media persons OC, Doomdooma Police Station, Dibya Jyoti Dutta told that from next time fine would be imposed on violators of COVID-19 guidelines laid down by the government. The police of Kakapather PS under Doomdooma circle in association with Kakapather Press Club also conducted similar awareness programme at Kakapather and distributed masks among the people and the traders of Kakapather Bazar on the same day.
