LAKHIMPUR: The 6th event of the series of lectures, initiated by the Telahi-Kamalaboria unit of Senior Citizens Association (Jyeshtha Nagarik Sanmilan) of Lakhimpur district, was organized at Om Prakash Dinodia (OPD) College on Saturday. The programme was organized in association with the Psychological Counselling Cell of the college.
The event commenced with Nila Chutia, the president of the senior citizens' body, in the chair, under the management of secretary Dambaru Nath who also explained the objective of the programme. The agenda of the programme kick-started with a Borgeet presented by student Banashree Kalita. Nila Chutia said that the senior citizens' body had been serially conducting the lecture events in view of the physical, mental, moral and spiritual wellbeing of the youths and the upcoming generations.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Bubul Saikia, the Principal of LTK College while Dr. Suresh Kumar Dutta, the Principal of the OPD College delivered the welcome address. In his lecture Dr. Saikia urged upon the students to refrain from any behaviour and activities which reflected one's moral deterioration. Head of the Department of Education at Lakhimpur Kendriya Mahavidyalay, Mrinali Goswami Pujari graced the occasion as resource person.
