Lecture on Kargil War conducted by Gajraj Corps at Darrang College and Tezpur School

GUWAHATI: In a run-up to Independence Day and to commemorate 20 years of India’s victory at Kargil, the Gajraj Corps of the Indian Army carried out a series of events in the last week of July and first week of August. As part of the event, a talk on ‘Kargil War’ was organised at Darrang College and Bengali Boys Higher Secondary School, Tezpur .

The talk-cum-presentation was delivered by Colonel Ashish Upreti, highlighting all the aspects that caused the war and India’s emphatic victory over Pakistan in Operation Vijay. The event was attended by the principal, Teaching staff and over 200 students.

The talk highlighted the misadventure carried out by Pakistan Army and the swift and decisive response by the Indian Armed Forces in thwarting their nefarious designs to threaten the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The difficulties faced by the troops and the tales of sacrifices were clearly brought out in order to motivate the students, stated a press release.
