He explained various aspects of the NEP-2020 in simple terms so as to make it easy for the students to understand. He said that NEP-2020 will create opportunity in higher education mainly in three things.

Firstly, it will relieve the students from the burden of the present examination-centric education by replacing it with a learning-centric education. Secondly, instead of the present fragmented education, the NEP-2020 will create a system in which students will get opportunity to select areas of study according to their own choices across disciplines. Thirdly, NEP-2020 will bring the co-curricular and the extra-curricular activities inside the main framework of education. But the main challenge in efforts to achieve these goals will be to equip the educational institutions with the required facilities of all kinds. Dr. Dipankar Saha, Registrar of Girijananda Chowdhury University spoke about various academic programmes offered by the university. Today, a Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between Girijananda Chowdhury University and Barpeta Girls’ College.
