DIBRUGARH: "Setting a goal needs a dream which must be specific, measurable, actionable, realistic and most importantly time-bound to become a goal, No dream can achieve a goal if it is not time-bound," said Dr Mukut Sarmah, Associate Professor, Assam University, Silchar. Dr Sarmah was the guest speaker in an event organized by Ashwini Charan Choudhury Central Library, DHSK College, Dibrugarh on Friday on the occasion of Librarians' Day, which is celebrated every year on August 12 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Father of Library Science in India, Dr S R Ranganathan. Dr Pallavi Gogoi, librarian, DHSK College, anchored the programme. Dr Sashi Kanta Saikia, principal of DHSK College, delivered the welcome speech.

In his speech, he emphasized the power of book reading and also expressed his concerns over the declining habit of book reading practice among the youths. The guest speaker of the session, Dr Sarmah in his speech on the theme 'Power of Visualization to achieve goal', explained in a very interesting manner how people can achieve big dreams with the power of strong visualization. He also explained and demonstrated the ways by which a person can practice visualization to convert his dreams into reality. Earlier, the principal of the college, Dr Sashi Kanta Saikia paid tribute to Dr S R Ranganathan by lighting lamps.

Dr Ananta Dutta, Academic Coordinator, Dr Mridul Sarma, Coordinator, IQAC, Dr Biraj Dutta, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Dr Buljit Buragohain were among the others who also joined the session with the student participants. There was a lively interaction session among the participants and the resource person.
