GOALPARA: To improve rural connectivity in the villages of Assam, the Chief Minister of Assam announced recently a scheme titled 'Mukhyamantrir Gramya Paribahan Achoni' to provide assistance to the entrepreneurs and Self-Help Groups desirous of buying light passenger vehicles to connect the villages with the nearest town, circle or block headquarters.

Accordingly, the inaugural ceremony of distribution of light motor vehicles to five beneficiaries under MMGPA (MukhyamantrirGramyaParibahanAchoni) took place on Saturday at the premises of the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Goalpara.

The event was chaired by Deputy Commissioner VarnaliDeka and attended by Deepak Kumar Rabha, MLA of Dudhnoi LAC. Total 86 beneficiaries from 86 revenue villages of Goalpara district were selected by a district-level selection committee, out of which five beneficiaries were allotted light motor vehicles.
