Line man electrocuted in Dhekiajuli

DHEKIAJULI: Arun Dam, line man of Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), Dhekiajuli Sub-Division-I was electrocuted inside the office campus on Saturday at around 12.30 PM.

Immediately he was brought to the Dhekiajuli 30-bedded hospital. But the hospital authorities sent him to Tezpur Medical College and Hospital, Tumukhi, for better treatment. As per information, due to the electrocution a hand of the line man and his chest were badly injured. The incident happened when the lineman was measuring the power supply amount and the voltage amount of the Current Transformer and the Potential Transformer ( CTPT ) in a 33 KVA supply wire inside the APDCL, Dhekiajuli Sub-Division office campus.

According to sources, power is supplied to the Dhekiajuli APDCL Sub Division-I from Mizibari Sub Station and the Thelamara Sub Station. For any repairing or measurement works, the power supply from these sub stations must be cut off and it was done. Investigation is on to find out the cause of the incident.
