Liquor shops in Assam to remain shut till ready with new MRP stock

Wine shops in Assam will remain closed till they are ready labelling of liquor bottles with the increased Maximum Retail Price (MRP). The Government of Assam has hiked price of all liquor by 25% effective from Saturday. Prices of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), beer, wine and overseas products will increase The retail vendors are not allowed to sell or lift any excise product till the new MRP is registered by the excise department, sources said.
