Lok Adalat under the provisions of LSAA, 1987 held in Dhubri Court

DHUBRI: As per the guidelines of National Legal Services Authority, Lok Adalat under the provisions of Legal Services Authority Act, 1987 was held all over India, including the Dhubri district, on Saturday.

A significant number of cases which are compoundable in nature, including petty offences under the provisions of Motor Vehicle Act, Motor accident claims, matters under Electricity Act, family court matters as well as pre-litigation cases were disposed through amicable settlement in presence of presiding officer and authorized persons under the provisions of the respective Acts.

The percentage of disposal of court cases in the Dhubri district is 40 percent. Such disposal via Lok Adalat helps to reduce the pendency of court cases in a cost-effective way.
