Jamugurihat: Ahead of the Magh Bihu festival the Bharaliparia Kanyaka Bohumukhi Paam, a farm established under the leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Padma Hazarika from Sootea Constituency at Jamugurihat, Sonitpur district of Assam has come up with fresh Dohi (Curd), Cream, 'tilor laru', Pitha, Chira, Gur (Jaggery ) and other Bihu delicacies to sale in the market for the people of Assam.
On the festival of the Bhogali bihu Kanyaka Bohumukhi Paam has produced foodgrains of around Rs 20 lakhs. It has produced 4000 litters of Tekeli Dohi, 2000 litters Chunga Dohi and more than 2000 kg of jaggery.
A worker of the farm said, "A stall will be set up near the Khanapara Veterinary hospital in Guwahati from where people of the city will be able to buy fresh food items like fish, meat, and other bihu delicacies, etc. Besides Guwahati Kanyaka Bohumukhi Paam has been supplying these fresh food items to Tezpur, Sontipur, and other districts of Assam too."
MLA Padma Hazarika has expressed satisfaction over the fact that people of Assam have welcomed his effort of producing fresh food grains on the farm during the time of Magh bihu festival.
Hazarika further stated that the food items produced at Kanyaka Paam are being sold at discounted prices in different parts of the state as well as in the local markets. The price has been released for sale on the occasion of Bhogali bihu.
The food grains produced by the farm have already taken over the markets of Guwahati, Sonitpur, and Biswanath districts as well as in various markets of the state and Arunachal Pradesh as well. Meanwhile, today for the 'Uruka' (The night before Magh Bihu is called Uruka, the night of feasts) over 20 quintals of fish produced in the farm will be released in the market at a discounted price, he added.
