HAFLONG: The alleged indifferent attitude of Mahur Municipal Board has become a matter of concern.

Mahur, a developing township covering numerous villages with sizable population, is considered to be a very important place in the district in terms of tourism and local organic production.

Tuesday being the Haat day, attracts people in large numbers from even bordering areas of Manipur and Nagaland. The Mahur market becomes an inter-state market on that day.

People alleged that the condition of Mahur market even on a Haat day is pathetic as there is a clump of dug-out soil across the lower Bazaar Road. One cannot risk climbing over it as a fall is sure to happen. To add to the obstruction, there are a couple of trucks and some three wheelers.

The people of Mahur have approached the Municipal Board many times but to no avail. The municipal board is responsible for the cleanliness of the market but it is allegedly indifferent to the inconvenience that people are facing.
