GUWAHATI: In a significant administrative shake-up, the Assam Government's Home (A) and Political Department recently implemented a major reshuffle within the police department. This reshuffle involved the transfer of several Superintendents of Police (SP) to various locations, marking a significant shift in the state's law enforcement leadership.

The reshuffle, which took place on a Friday, saw top police officials being reassigned to new posts and responsibilities. The following is the complete list of police officials who have been affected by these transfers:

1. Dr. N. Rajamarthandan, IPS (RR-2006): Dr. Rajamarthandan, who previously served as the Superintendent of Railway Police in Pandu, Guwahati, has been transferred and is now posted as the Superintendent of Police in the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in Barpeta. This transfer takes effect from the date of assuming charge, replacing Ms. Pankaj Yadav, IPS, who will now serve as the Superintendent of Police in Tamulpur.

2. Smti. Supriya Das, IPS (RR-2017):Smti. Supriya Das, the former Superintendent of Police in Udalguri, has been relocated to Nalbari, where she will take over as the Superintendent of Police. This change comes into effect from the date of her assumption of office, succeeding Shri Sudhakar Singh, APS, who has also been transferred.

3. Shri Pushkin Jain, IPS (RR-2017): Shri Pushkin Jain, who previously held the position of Superintendent of Police in Golaghat, is now reassigned to Udalguri as the new Superintendent of Police. His transfer is effective from the date of taking charge, replacing Smti. Supriya Das, IPS.

4. Shri Sudhakar Singh, APS (DR-1995): Shri Sudhakar Singh, the former Superintendent of Police in Nalbari, has been transferred and is now posted as the Superintendent of Police in Zonal-1 of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Ulubari, Guwahati. This change comes into effect from the date of his assumption of office, taking over from Shri Dhruba Bora, APS, who has also been relocated.

5. Shri Rajen Singh, APS (DR-1995): Shri Rajen Singh, who served as the Superintendent of Police in Baksa, has been transferred to Golaghat, where he will assume the role of Superintendent of Police. This transfer takes effect from the date of taking charge, succeeding Shri Pushkin Jain, IPS.

6. Shri Dhruba Bora, APS (DR-2004): Shri Dhruba Bora, who previously held the position of Superintendent of Police in Zonal-1 of the CID in Ulubari, Guwahati, has been reassigned as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Security) in the Police Commissionerate of Guwahati. This change takes effect from the date of assuming charge, filling an existing vacancy.

7. Shri Debasish Borah, APS (DR-2004): Shri Debasish Borah, the Commandant of the 4th Assam Police Battalion (APBN) in Kahilipara, Guwahati, has been granted the additional responsibility of overseeing the Superintendent of Railway Police in Pandu, Guwahati, alongside his existing duties, until further orders.

8. Shri Ujjal Pratim Baruah, APS (DR-2004): Shri Ujjal Pratim Baruah, the Commandant of the 14th APBN in Daulasal, Nalbari, has been transferred and will now serve as the Superintendent of Police in Baksa. This transfer takes effect from the date of taking charge, succeeding Shri Rajen Singh, APS.

9. Shri Anjan Pandit, APS (DR-2010): Shri Anjan Pandit, the Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ) in Golaghat, has been granted the authority to hold the charge post at the rank of SP/Comdt./DCP/AIGP. He is also being transferred and will now serve as the Commandant of the 14th APBN in Daulasal, Nalbari, effective from the date of taking over charge, succeeding Shri Ujjal Pratim Baruah, APS.
