BONGAIGAON: Bongaigaon police busted a big drug racket in a span of 24 hours. Police nabbed total four persons and recovered more than 60,000 narcotic tablets.

Talking to mediapersons, Swapnaneel Deka, Bongaigaon Superintendent of Police, said that police intercepted four persons on Wednesday night. "They were nabbed on basis of previous information. The nabbed persons have been identified as Imdadul Huque (28) , son of Muffazzar Ali, and Jiyarul Hoque (27), son of Habibur Rahman, both residents of Kabaitari village under Jogighopa PS, Mohirul Islam (26), son of Afsar Ali, resident of Moukhowa village under Chapar PS of Dhubri district, and Golbar Hussein (28), son of Nur Sheikh, a resident of Kayathpara village under Abhayapuri village. On basis of their confession, police conducted raid in the house of Jiyarul Hoque and recovered 264 capsules of Sampex + and 396 SPSPHEN tablets. A case in this regard has been registered at Jogighopa PS (Case No 295/2021 U/S-22(c) 25/29 NDPS Act)," the SP said.

"In further course of investigation, police conducted raid in the house of Saddam Hussein, son of Afsar Ali at Jhaukura Part-II village under Pancharatna River police station of Bongaigaon district. Police recovered 60,000 NT-10 tablets from his house. The house has been sealed but the accused Saddam Hussein managed to flee away. Police are conducting investigation in this regard," SP Deka further said.
