Major Reshuffle: 6 Top Bureaucrats Transferred in Assam

GUWAHATI: In the interest of the public service, the Personnel (Administration) Department of the Assam Government on Wednesday carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle.

As per the notification, six top bureaucrats of Assam including secretaries, deputy commissioners, and other top officials have been transferred.

Varnali Deka, Secretary to the Government of Assam, Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship Department and Mission Director, Assam Skill Development Mission and Director, Assam Administrative Staff College is transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar.

While, Megha Nidhi Dahal, present Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar is transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar district.

Similarly, Bishnu Kamal Borah, Deputy Commissioner, Sivasagar is transferred and posted as Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Information and Public Relations Department, and Director, Information and Public Relation, Assam.

While, Anupam Choudhury, Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Information and Public Relations Department, and Director, Information and Public Relation, Assam has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Hojai.

And, Sadnek Singh, present Deputy Commissioner of Hojai has been transferred and will report to the Personnel Department for his posting.

On the other hand, Ghanshyam Dass, Secretary to the Chief Minister, Assam is transferred and posted as Secretary to the Government of Assam, Social Welfare Department.

The reshuffle was carried out on orders of the Governor of Assam.
