Make-up artist Nirmal Saikia of Jamugurihat passes away

JAMUGURIHAT: Popular makeup artist of Jamugurihat, Nirmal Saikia breathed his last on August 3 due to prolonged illness. He was 60. He was closely associated with the English Bhaona team of Prajanmya Unmesh led by Arup Saikia. Arup Saikia, director of English Bhaona said, "Nirmal Saikia's style of makeup is unique. Very efficiently he can exhibit a changed look of the traditional characters." Besides make-up, he was a good percussionist also. Nirmal Saikia has actively participated in the orchestra of Bhaona namely Gayan and Bayan. Many leading organizations offer condolences in his demise. He left behind his wife and one married daughter and two sons.
