Man dies in Delhi in mysterious condition; family demands inquiry and compensation

JAMUGURIHAT: Kartik Bora, a resident of Kenduguri, Samar Dalani under Sootea police station, died in a mysterious condition in Delhi on Monday. He was 45.

According to information, Kartik Bora had been working in Gurgaon for the last two years. Earlier to this, Dhruba Jyoti Hazarika of Guwahati had engaged Kartik in Gurgaon as an employee. Kartik had regular contact with his family members. He talked with his wife and family members last Sunday. But on Monday, two men allegedly sent by Dhruba Jyoti Hazarika arrived at the Kenduguri residence of Kartik Bora and informed the family members that Kartik was admitted to a hospital and so the family members had to move to Delhi with them.

Accordingly, Kartik’s wife Aaitu Bora and his younger brother Jitumani Bora proceeded to Guwahati with them. On reaching Guwahati, Kartik’s wife was taken to Delhi by flight. On reaching Delhi, Aaitu Bora came to know that her husband had died on Monday and his body was kept in Rajendra Nagar police station. Kartik’s elder brother also reached Delhi later on. When contacted, he revealed that Karthik Bora fell from the top floor of a nine-storey building of Dhruba Jyoti Hazarika in Gurgaon.

Kartik was deployed as a caretaker at Summit Tower A 904 Gurgaon, sector 104 of Dhruba Jyoti Hazarika. Notably, Aaitu Bora was taken to Delhi by flight by Nibedita Hazarika from Guwahati. The family members of Kartik Bora lodged an FIR at Rajendra Nagar police station on Tuesday. According to family sources, the body of Kartik Bora will reach his Kenduguri residence on Friday. The family members have demanded an inquiry leading to his death and termed it a murder rather than an accident. He leaves behind his parents, wife, two sons along with a host of relatives. Kartik was the only earner of the economically poor family. The family members also demanded compensation from the employer as well.
