Man Stabs His Wife To Death In Assam's Mariani

Mariani: A woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her own husband on Tuesday night in Assam's Mariani.

The accused husband, who was identified as Lakhshmiram Karmakar, stabbed his wife with a machete.

As per reports, in a bid to hide his crime, Karmakar tried to bury the body of his wife, however, neighbours intervene after noticing his act and called the police.

After reaching the crime scene, police recovered the dead body and arrested Karmakar immediately.

Locals have accused Karmakar of being abusive toward his wife and often assaulting her.

In this regard, further investigation is underway.
