Manab Adhikar Sangram Samiti condemns attack on journalist Banjit Thakuria

LAKHIMPUR: Manab Adhikar Sangram Samiti (MASS) has condemned the attack on Banjit Thakuria, a senior journalist of a daily newspaper, published from Guwahati in vernacular language.

The journalist was attacked on Tuesday midnight by some assailants while covering news at the Commerce College point area in Guwahati. The organization has expressed resentment over the Police Department for providing no exemplary punishment to the assailants of the journalist. In this connection, MASS central committee secretary Raju Singha, through a press release, has sought the intervention of the Chief Minister and demanded him to provide justice to the victim journalist. Through the same press release, the organization further demanded the government to introduce and implement a journalist security act.
