MANGALDAI: Er Sushanta Biswa Sarma of Assam Police Service since his joining as the 25th Superintendent of Police of Darrang district on May 18 last has been successful in gearing up the entire district Police against all the organized gang of anti-social elements namely drugs peddler, illegal cattle traders, the boot liquors, gamblers, illegal traders of opium and cannabis. The peace-loving citizens of the district have also been extending a positive response to the police in tracking out the anti-social elements. Though it is hard to believe, the officials of Mangaldai Police Station while continuing their operation against the illicit country liquor have destroyed approximately one lakh litres of illicit country liquor in different villages. In Charge of Town Branch of Mangaldai Police Station Sub Inspector Dantejit Deuri following the instruction from the Superintendent of Police have regularly been conducting the drive at villages namely Ramhari, Adhamapara, Bunglagarh, Borthekerabari, Rongamati, Aulachowka, Bejpara No 1 and 2, Kacharipara, Gerimari, Chereng, Kerimeri Chowk, Kathpori, etc and destroyed the illicit country liquor amounting to one lakh litre. The Police have also destroyed all the utensils used in the making of country liquor.
