Mangaldai Municipality Board (MMB) becomes first civic body in North East to offer services online

Mangaldai: In yet another achievement following the record collection of Rs. 3.53 lakh on a single day from defaulting traders, Mangaldai Municipality Board (MMB) has become the only municipality in the entire north-eastern region to provide all the municipality services online to citizens and traders. On August 6, the civic body issued the first online Trade License to Lohit Deka of Ward No. 3 at BR Road for a grocery shop.

Talking to The Sentinel, highly overwhelmed chairman Pratap Bordoloi and Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Executive Officer of the civic body, Pankaj Chakravarty informed that initially 16 services would be provided to the citizens and traders online. These services are trade license, NOC for Land Sale and Purchase etc.

“We are committed for the ease and comfort of all the citizens and traders and we seek all cooperation for smooth functioning of the MMB,” added both the office bearers of the civic body. Meanwhile, various social organizations, including Mangaldai Media Circle, have appreciated the initiative of the MMB. Newly-joined Executive Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Chakravarty with active support and cooperation of chairman Pratap Bordoloi and all the ward commissioners have been instrumental in bringing a rapid change in the functioning of the civic body at the district headquarters town.
