Many join Asom Jatiya Parishad in Doomdooma

DOOMDOOMA: Over 40 people from different communities of Doomdooma area joined in the newly-formed political party, Asom Jatiya Parishad (AJP) at Doomdooma on Tuesday.

A meeting of the party was held on Tuesday at Doomdooma Sakha Sahitya Sabha Bhavan with the vice-president of AJP Tinsukia District Committee, Pratap Tanti in the chair. In the meeting, a 31-member executive body of Doomdooma Regional Committee of AJP was formed with Govinda Phookan as president, Gautam Chakraborty as secretary and Milan Yadav as treasurer.

On the other hand, a 31-member convener committee for Doomdooma Legislative Assembly Constituency was also formed in the meeting with Kuleshwar Phukan and Deben Deka as chief conveners. An 11-member convener committee of Jatiya Yuva Shakti for Doomdooma Legislative Assembly Constituency was also formed in the meeting with Jayanta Lahon and Rupjyoti Saikia as chief conveners. A good number of State and district-level leaders of the party attended Tuesday's meeting.
