Marriage song competition organized by Akash Subcommittee of Sadiya Swarna Sakha Xahitya Xabha

DOOMDOOMA: The Akash Subcommittee of Sadiya Swarna Sakha Xahitya Xabha (SSSXX) organized a Biyanam (marriage song) competition on Wednesday. The event was attended by president of Tinsukia Zilla Xahitya Xabha (TZXX) Mohan Moran, former president, TZXX Arjun Baruah, working president, central Ramdhenu Sub-committee Pulak Kumar Gogoi and president, Buridihing Sakha Xahitya Xabha (BSXX) Jayanta Moran.

Altogether 20 teams participated in the event. The performance of marriage songs by the teams and utterance of Uruli (a thrilling sound made by the women by fast movement of the tongue on auspicious occasions) presented a festive look to the whole auditorium like a marriage hall and enthralled the audience.

The TZXX president Mohan Moran thanked the organisers, SSSXX president Deepali Chetia Borgohain and SSSXX secretary Santosh Sarma and the office-bearers of Akash Sub-committee, SSSXX for taking up such a commendable initiative.
