Married woman found dead under mysterious circumstances in Dhekiajuli

DHEKIAJULI: A married woman was found dead at her in-laws residence under mysterious circumstances on December 23.

As per source the deceased identified as one Shilpi Biswas Dey (25) of Manojuli, Dhekiajuli was married with one Rajdeep Dey (30) son of Pradip Dey of Manojuli Gaon in the month of March 2020.

It is alleged by the family members of the victim that it was planned murder as there was no sign of suicide detected in the body of the decease. Further, the family members alleged that their daughter was physically tortured on regular basis due to dowry since the marriage.

Notably, on Thursday morning at around 10 AM the husband's family members informed the wife's guardian that their daughter was serious and should visit at the Dhekiajuli hospital to see their daughter.

When the victim's family members asked about the incident, the husband's family members said that the victim committed suicide. However, it is alleged by the victim's family members that they did not found any hanging symptoms on the body of their daughter; instead they found sign of torture on her body. Immediately the victim's family members filed an FIR in the Dhekiajuli Police station.

Meanwhile, local police acting upon the FIR arrested Rajdeep Dey the husband of the victim.

Dhekiajuli police send the body of the Shilpi Biswas Dey at the Tezpur Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.

Till filling of this report more than 200 people gherowed the Dhekiajuli Police Station for appropriate action against the family members of the Husband and urged a high level police enquiry to the incident. On the other hand, the Sonitpur unit of Hindu Yuva Chhatra Porished demanded strong action against the culprit.
