Massive heat wave: 24 school students at Pathsala faint

PATHSALA: As a massive heat wave has gripped the entire State, at least 24 school students at Pathsala fainted on Thursday due to scorching heat.

The students belonged to the Sawhid Madan Rauta High School at Saderi village in Pathsala. The students fainted during the morning assembly prayers. Later, they were admitted to Madan Rauta High Civil Hospital in Pathsala.

The hospital in-charge, Rana Deka informed that most of the students were given first aid as per symptoms. He urged the school authorities to conduct morning assembly in cooler places or inside the classrooms. According to the latest Google weather report, the temperature soared to a scorching 38°C, exacerbating the already challenging conditions faced by the students.
