Massive operation conducted against illicit liquor across Golaghat district

GOLAGHAT: A massive operation was conducted against illegal liquor in various places of Golaghat district on Saturday morning. The operation against illegal liquor was carried out under the leadership of the Superintendent of Excise, Golaghat, Sanjeev Kumar Saikia and Inspector of Excise Golaghat (Sadar), Niranjan Das. The raids were conducted in Borjan Tea Estate, Chokiting Tea Easte, Ahom Gaon, Bokolai Gaon and Bengenakhowa. During the raids, around 200 litres of illicit fermented wash and 30 litres of illicit country liquor were destroyed. Bhajan Singh (54), son of Bela Singh, resident of Bengenakhowa, was imposed fine for using alcohol in public places.
