Tetanus Plus (Td) vaccination media workshop held in Tezpur

TEZPUR: The media sensitization workshop on Tetanus Plus (Td) vaccination organized by Health and Family Welfare Department of Sonitpur was held at the School of Nursing hall of the Kanaklata Civil Hospital, Tezpur on Monday.

Additional Chief Medical and Health Officer, Sonitpur, DrPhaniPathak presided over the workshop in presence of DrBhabajyoti Bora, Surveillance Medical Officer (WHO), DrBimanSarmah, District Immunization Officer, Sonitpur among others.

Attending the workshop, DrBiman Sharma gave a detailed insight on Td vaccine through a power-point presentation. Dr Sharma also informed that vaccination of Diptheria Tetanus Vaccination was launched from Monday in Sonitpur district along with the rest of the State as directed by higher authorities and all the preparations had already been made and the team was ready to achieve the target defying all hurdes, including COVID-19.

While addressing the media, DrPhaniPathak informed that around 44,579 children in the Sonitpur district would be covered by the vaccination campaign . The Tetanus Plus (Td) campaign will be conducted within a period of three weeks schedule starting from Monday. Nearly 1,089 centres of the district have been identified for the purpose, which include Anganwadicentres and health establishments. The target beneficiaries are children aged 10 and 16 years.
