Meet for construction of Anganwadi centres held in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA : “Do not compromises on quality of work in the construction of Anganwadi centres,” said Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia Swapneel Paul while holding a review meeting on the proposed construction of 105 Model Anganwadi centres in the district on Monday. Being financed jointly by the NABARD Infrastructure Development Assistance (NIDA) and the Directorate of Welfare of Scheduled Castes and other backward classes of the Government of Assam, 21 centres will be constructed in each constituency.

The meeting was attended by Suren Phukan and Rupesh Guwala MLAs of Digboi and Doomdooma LACs respectively, Niluram Sarma social welfare officer i/c, member secretaries of Anganwadi Construction Committees besides others. The DC also directed the Anganwadi Centre Construction Committees which do not have bank accounts to open bank accounts soon and urged the concerned departments to start the construction of the centres immediately and to expedite the work.
