HAILAKANDI: A meeting of the District Task Force for launching of Tetanus Plus Vaccination Programme (TPVC) was held here on Friday. Chairing the meeting at the Deputy Commissioner's conference hall, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Health, Narendra Kumar Shah asked all the health officials and functionaries to gear up the TPVC to meet the target of 33,351 children aged 10 and 16 years.

Of the 33,351 targeted children, 8,535 fall under Katlicherra BPHC, 9,209 under Lala BPHC, 12,584 under Algapur BPHC, 1,711 under Kalinagar BPHC and 1,312 under Urban. The 20-day campaign vaccination campaign begins from Monday.

District Immunisation Officer, KYS Rangmei asked all the Incharge of BPHCs to ensure no children are left out of Tetanus Plus Vaccination drive. She asked the BPHCs to open control room to handle any exigency.

Rangmei disclosed that there would be a total 924 session sites out of which 813 would be under regular outreach session and 111 under fixed session. The meeting discussed threadbare and sorted out all issues, including logistic support to pave the way for smooth implementation of the vaccination campaign.

Matters pertaining to achieving cent per cent target of vaccination of pregnant women and children for 2020-21 were also held with ADC, Shah urging all the incharge of BPHCs to put in extra efforts.

With some COVID-19 positive cases being registered, Shah asked all the health functionaries not to be complacent but to step up RAT and RT-PCR tests for early detection and isolation of positive patients. He asked them to ensure meeting the target of testing 900 persons per day. "We cannot let our guard down as few positive cases have come to the fore in the past couple of days. We have to put in all efforts to meet the target of testing set against each BPHC. We cannot afford to go back to those pandemic times and have to work with all sincerity insofar as conducting test is concerned and proper monitoring at block level to make the district free from the disease," he added.
