Meeting held on Durga Puja celebration in Dibrugarh District

DIBRUGARH: A meeting on the celebration of Durga Puja was held at the DC's conference hall on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Dibrugarh District authority chairman Sanjay Dutta.

The president and secretary of all the puja committees took part in the meeting where DDA chairman briefed them about certain guidelines to be followed during the celebration. Sanjay Dutta said the puja committees should apply for the puja permission before September 25.

"We request the puja committees to follow the guidelines for the smooth conduct of Durga Puja festival," Dutta said. He asked all the puja committees for two separate lines for males and females during the viewing of the Durga idol. Dibrugarh Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ) Bitul Chetia said that the Puja committees should not use high decible sound system during the immersion procession.
