KOKRAJHAR: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Chirang, Narendra Kumar Shah in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office to prepare for the 75th Independence Day celebration at Kajalgaon, the district headquarter, on Friday.
The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police of Chirang, Pranjit Bora, Additional Deputy Commissioners Khanindra Das and Nirmali Baruah, Additional Superintendent of Police Prakash Medhi, Assistant Commissioners, Circle Officers, district heads of departments, heads of educational institutions, non-governmental social organizations and leading personalities.
In view of the current COVID-19 situation, the district administration has decided to celebrate the Independence Day in full compliance with COVID guidelines. On the other hand, in order to make the Independence Day celebration a success, various departments were formally entrusted with responsibilities to ensure preparation as well as smooth conduct of the programme.
At the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar Shah said that this year too, the Independence Day would be celebrated in a befitting manner with various programmes and activities by observing strictly certain preventive measures such as maintaining social distance, proper sanitization and wearing face masks.
The meeting also decided to hold essay writing competition, quiz competition and cultural programme along with felicitation of some selected GNMs, ANMs and health workers from the health department, teachers, farmers, sportspersons and police personnel on the basis of their performance.
