KOKRAJHAR: A meeting of the District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Shantanu P. Gotmare was held at the conference hall of Block-A of BTC Secretariat on Wednesday.
The meeting was participated by all the engineers of Public Health Engineering (PHE) department and other officials from departments concerned from Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa and Udalguri districts.
In the meeting, the BTC principal secretary reviewed the implementation status of JJM schemes district-wise and directed the Additional Chief Engineer and Director and Council Head of PHE department to cancel all the work orders of schemes which were still neither started nor had made 10 per cent progress. As such, the house identified as many as 62 JJM schemes in BTR of which included 27 from Gossaigaon, 14 from Baksa and 21 from Chirang district. He further ordered the head of the PHE department to initiate necessary action for re-tendering of such schemes immediately.
In addition to that, the house decided to revalidate a total of 159 schemes for immediate implementation. The meeting also discussed approval of ongoing schemes and present status of Detailed Project Report (DPR) of schemes sanctioned under 3rd SLSSC (State Level Scheme Sanctioning Committee).
