Silchar: On the occasion of the 6th annual Pritam Bhattacharjee memorial prize distribution ceremony, six meritorious students selected from different colleges were felicitated with prizes in order to encourage and inspire them for better performance and better results in course of their further higher studies. Pritam Bhattacharjee memorial gold medal was presented to Ferdewsi Rahman Choudhury who stood first class first in Physics Honours from Karimganj College. Pritam Bhattacharjee Smiriti Medha Puraskar went to Kunal Chakraborty for securing the highest marks in Physics Honours from Gurucharan College Silchar.

Bithika Bhattacharjee Smiriti Medha Puraskar was bagged by Ankita Mitra Mazumder for obtaining the highest marks in TDC Pass Course from Women’s College Silchar. Kamala Bhattacharjee Smiriti Medha Puraskar was presented to Sahin Kaushar Laskar who secured the highest marks among degree honours students also of Silchar Women’s College. Khitish Chandra Paul Choudhury memorial gold medal went to Sathi Nath for standing first class first in Sanskrit Honours from Rabindra Sadan Girls’ College Karimganj. Navoleena Das of Hiron Prova Shishu Mandir Silchar qualified for Pritam Bhattacharjee Science Talent Award who participated in National Children Science Congress 2018.

Dr. Shankar Bhattacharjee, a father of Pritam Bhattacharjee, a distinguished academician with scholastic excellence, initiated the memorial lecture and prize distribution ceremony every year which has earned appreciation from the academic world. Pritam Bhattacharjee, a highly talented student-scholar, lost his life in mysterious circumstances while travelling by train to Delhi from Guwahati to submit his thesis for Ph.D. at a Delhi University six years ago. The meritorious students were felicitated by Prof Dilip Chandra Nath, VC, Assam University, and other distinguished persons in presence of the enlightened audience at the auditorium of Gurucharan College here.
