MGNREGA fund allegedly siphoned off with fake job cards

LAKHIMPUR: Misappropriation of MGNREGA fund through fake and manipulated job cards and bank accounts has rocked Dhakuakhana subdivision. The name of a local BJP activist who is allegedly involved in this corruption has come to light.

As per report, BJP activist Sarat Borgohain, resident of Bhoma Ahom Gaon, has allegedly misappropriated MGNREGA fund through fake and manipulated job cards for a long time. Regarding the issue, the people of the village organized a public meeting at the namghar of the village on Sunday. In the meeting, the people of the village alleged that Sarat Borgohain made many MGNREGA job cards with manipulated information and opened fake bank accounts by producing the fake job cards.

In this regard, he was allegedly assisted by a Customer Service Point (CDP) employee named Bhola Sankar Kuli. According to people's allegation, Bhola Sankar Kuli helped Sarat Borgohain in opening the fake bank accounts against the manipulated job cards. With his help, Sarat Borgohain opened fake bank accounts in the name of dead persons of the village too and siphoned off MGNREGA fund allotted for various schemes.In the meeting, the people of the village staged strong protest and demanded legal action and punishment for the accused person. They also resolved to submit complaint to the Dhakuakhana subdivisional administration and to lodge an FIR at Dhakuakhana Police Station against the accused person.
