KOKJRAJHAR: MLA of 30-Kokrajhar East constituency Lawrence Islary on Monday inaugurated six projects under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Generation Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) under Pasagar Village Council Development Committee (VCDC) in Fakiragram area of Kokrajhar district. Islary laid the foundation stones under MGNREGA for the construction of roads and bridges and other basic infrastructures in Pasagar, Pakaritala, Paharbasti, Salbari, Kashimari and Malandubi villages.

MLA Islary said many villages under Pasagar VCDC lacked basic infrastructures. He said the new projects under MGNREGA will provide the job opportunities. He said the BJP-led State government and UPPL-led BTR administration had been trying to cater the need of the people of the area. He hoped that the area will witness the effective development in the days to come.

The MLA was accompanied by leader of UPPL Matiur Rahman, ex-president of Bengali Yuva Chatra Federation Mantu Dey, chairman of Pasagar VCDC-Rafiul Islam and leaders of the party. He also visited Madrasa and Jamiat-Umme-Habib at Pakrital in Fakiragram.
