MGVK Bhanu and Pallab Lochan Das filed nominations ahead first phase of Lok Sabha Elections for Tezpur Constituency

Tezpur: On the last day of the nomination filing day for Tezpur Lok Sabha Constituency ahead of the first phase of the general election on April 11, a total 9 candidates today submitted their nominations before the Returning Officer of the constituency Narsingh Pawar.

Candidates from Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party, Independent candidates, NCP today submitted their nominations before the Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner for Sonitpur District Pawar.

From BJP, Pallab Lochan Das and Congress candidate MGVK Bhanu submitted their nominations. The two are expected to go head-to-head in the upcoming general elections.

The candidates for the Tezpur Lok Sabha who submitted their nominations are - Mahendra Orang (Voters Party International), Mahendra Bhuyan (Nationalist Congress Party), MGVK Bhanu (Congress), Pallab Lochan Das (BJP), Iqbal Ansari (Independent), Ranvijay Kumar Rai (Bahujan Mukti Party), Vijay Kumar Tiru (Asom Aadivasi Rastriya Party), Ram Bahadur Sonar (National People's Party), Krishna Hari Paul (Sarba Bharatiya Hindustan Congress).

Earlier, Ziabur Rahman (Independent) filed his nominations on March 22, which takes the total number of nominations filed for 9-Tezpur HPC to ten candidates.

It is to be noted that the nominations will be scrutinized on March 26. The last date of withdrawal of nominations is March 28.

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Borah on Monday joins Tezpur candidate MGK Bhanu in the streets and was seen dancing to the beats of dhol and bortaal.

Similarly, BJP candidate for Tezpur Constituency Pallab Lochan Das was joined by CM Sarbananda Sonowal, State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, AGP leader Phani Bhushan Choudhury.
