A day-long programme on millet based recipe competition in relation to celebration of Poshan Maah was organised in Dolabari Gaon Panchayat office, Sonitpur, by KVK, Sonitpur in collaboration with Gabharu ICDS.

TEZPUR: A day-long programme on millet based recipe competition in relation to celebration of Poshan Maah was organised in Dolabari Gaon Panchayat office, Sonitpur, by KVK, Sonitpur in collaboration with Gabharu ICDS. The programme was graced by Dr. Manoranjan Neog, DoEE (I/C), Jorhat, Karabi Karan Sakia, CEO, Zilla Parishad, Sonitpur, District Agriculture Offcer, Sonitpur, Pankaj Sakia as chief guest.

At the onset of the programme, Head, incharge, of KVK Sonitpur, Angana Sarmah, welcomed the participants and addressed them regarding importance of celebration of poshan Maah. Dr. M. Neog addreseed the participants about importance of millet and its inclusion in nutrition garden. P. Sakia discussed about scientific cultivation of millet. Pompy Bora, Programme Assistant (C. Sc.) briefed about health benefit and value addition of millet. Dr. Ranjit Bordoloi (Subject matter specialist) and Dr. Namita Dutta (Subject matter specialist) discussed about the ongoing KVK activities and how the farmers could avail them. Sarmistha Borgohain, (PAC), Ritu Moni Bora were also present in the programme. CDPO, Kusum Talukdar and a total of 72 Awanwadi workers from 12 different sectors were present in the programme. The competition concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony among the participants.
