Tinsukia: A mini-marathon competition was held at Pengaree, Tinsukia District of Assam. The programme titled 'No to Drugs, Yes to Run' was organised by the Third Battalion, Garhwal Rifles at Pengaree under the Margherita sub-division of Tinsukia.

The programme was also to create awareness among the people about the protection and conservation of forests.

The marathon was inaugurated by Digboi Army Commander Sachin Mehta.

Boys ran a distance of 5 kilometers from the Pengaree Chariali and the girl participants covered a distance of 3 kilometers.

In the boy's section, Akash Murai got the first position and the second position was held by Krishnan Kumi. In the girls' category Rubika Baruah won the first position and Arami Radhuwai came second.

The chief guest of the event was Digboi Army Commander Sachin Mehta, Colonel Waidi Sharma, Pengaree entrepreneur Kuldip Sharma and other prominent personalities of the area were present at the event.
